A very excited Vocal Dimension took to the stage in the 2,500 seat auditorium wearing matching black tunics with shiny turquoise polka dots, black trousers, full stage make-up featuring sweeping false eyelashes and ruby-red lips, and dripping with ‘diamond’ jewellery!
Under the leadership of Valerie Taylor, their Musical Director, they performed two songs – a feisty up-tune called ‘World Here I Am’ (Anderson/Kimball/Bergman) followed by a moving ballad, ‘My Romance’ (Rodgers/Hart/Minshall).

Having formed as recently as January 2010, the chorus was delighted to scoop the silver medal in their category for the second year running. Their score in the competition improved impressively and is expected to rank them third in the world out of around 250 competing small choruses. It is also just shy of the elite score that would earn Valerie Taylor the title of ‘Master Director’.
They are excited to be ‘going for gold’ next year at The Sage in Gateshead – with the tempting chance to qualify for the 2014 Sweet Adelines International competition in Baltimore, USA!
