Sweet Adelines 2024
Convention
Sheffield Octagon played host to this year’s Region 31 Convention and boy, did we have a great time!
It was our first outing as part of the larger AA division for medium-sized choruses of 30-60 singers, and we came home with a Gold medal in that category plus a Bronze for 3rd place in the overall competition.

We also achieved our best ever regional competition score with 617, meaning we could well be in the running to qualify for the 2025 International competition. But regardless of this, it was a fantastic achievement and it was great to see six of our newer chorus members experience the
"First Timer" delights, friendship bonds and fun to be had at this brilliant Sweet Adelines contest.

We were also thrilled to welcome back three members who sang with us in Louisville to perform our Silver Medal-winning International set - The Great British Baking Contest - opening the show for the final evening’s entertainment.
We very much enjoyed hearing our Bass section lead Fran’s arrangements - Something Inside So Strong as part of the mass sing, and Ed Sheeran’s Perfect, performed by Lace City Chorus.

We also cheered loudly for our "Unsung Champion" award winner Helen Blount who gave so much as our events coordinator in the run-up to International and then took on the lead role in our set, performing under pressure as the marvellous
Cherry Bakewell.
