Our Eastbourne Retreat

Our wonderful hobby takes us on many adventures, and we love it! February 2024, we spent a weekend in Eastbourne at our first ever VDC retreat. We were lucky enough to be joined and coached by the very talented and extremely lovely Sandra Lee Riley.

The weekend was full of music, learning, experimenting, practising and creating, but it was also a time for us to enjoy each other’s company. Situated on the Eastbourne Seafront, our hotel served as our great home for the weekend. With a private space for rehearsals and relaxation, plus meals laid on — such a treat! Amidst our musical endeavors, we also hit the relaxation jackpot. Karaoke in the bar on the Friday night, followed by a Saturday soirée celebrating our 14th birthday and International silver medal. Chorus members blinged it up with silver-themed attire, setting the stage for sparkle overload!

We all enjoyed a full programme of evening entertainment from poetic brilliance, marvellous music to side splitting skits, our talented troupe pulled out all the stops. We capped off the festivities with heartfelt thanks to our Director, Valerie and Assistant Director, Emma, plus some fun annual chorus awards. All topped off with Prosecco and a delicious birthday cake. It was such a great weekend, making memories that'll last a lifetime!
