Vocal Dimensions Quartets

Within Vocal Dimension we have several talented quartets.

A barbershop quartet is made up of the four voices that make the unique barbershop sound, tenor, lead, baritone and bass.

FourEffect Quartet

FourEffect came about by accident. Anita (Lead), Liz (Bari) and Deb (Bass) were travelling together by car to a Christmas performance in Dec 2013. They started to sing, liked what they heard and soon realised, all they needed was a Tenor to make up a quartet. They decided they would ask Lisa and it turned out she was the first person they bumped into when they arrived at the performance venue. With almost no hesitation they decided to get together the following week to see how they sounded. They met, sang and chose a name!

Since then they have had a very exciting first year together. In May 2015 they competed in their first Quartet competition and have had a number of performances including charity events, nursing homes and interactive sessions with the Guides and WI.

They are looking forward to another great year of singing and performing together.
 

Virtual Q

Virtual Q: L-R Fran (Bass), Claire (Lead), Emma (Bari) and Jasmine (Tenor) 

At a time when the world went a bit topsy turvey and the joy of live singing was temporarily halted, Jasmine (Tenor), Claire (Lead), Emma (Bari) and Fran (Bass) decided to embrace technology and learn and record a few songs virtually as a quartet.

They had a lot of fun doing it and have continued to learn music, share it via social media and now restrictions have started to ease, they have begun to meet outside and sing in real life. Quite an unconventional way to start a quartet but they are very much enjoying singing together and are looking forward to the time they can begin to perform together in front of a real audience rather than a virtual one.
 

Nova Quartet

Nova is a Sweet Adelines & LABBS Barbershop quartet. Becky Middleton (tenor), Amanda Prest (lead) and Valerie Taylor (bass) have recently been joined by Debs Thompson (baritone).
